Wadi Safar – Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA)
Introduction
Diriyah, a 7 km2 mega development project, is a mixed-use historic, culture and lifestyle destination. Becoming the Kingdom’s historic and cultural heart, Diriyah will proudly showcase to the world Saudi Arabia’s 300+ years of history through an engaging and inspiring set of heritage, hospitality, education, retail and dining experiences for residents, tourists and frequent visitors.
Wadi Safar, one of the major district areas in Diriyah, is to be developed as a mix of residential, leisure and commercial land use including residential farm plots, hotels, nursery and other leisure and entertainment facilities. SALCO has been awarded by DGDA the Design and Construction of a Temporary Nursery, which shall itself be located within Wadi Safar development project, west of Riyadh city.
Scope of Work
Works will be undertaken in two Phases:
- Phase 1 – Construction of Nursery
- Phase 2 – Operation & Maintenance of Nursery / Tree Management for 2 Years
The Nursery Construction is comprised of the following main components:
- Nursery Site Construction
- Site Grading 70,000 m2
- Parking and roads 5,000 m2
- Site Lighting 25 Nos
- Fencing & Gates 1,200 m
- Irrigation network & Utilities 60,000 m2
- Construction of Nursery Management Buildings
- Office Building + Messing Facilities 300 m2
- Storage Facility 100 m2
- Soil Mixing Shed + Washdown area 200 m2
- Open in-ground area 60,000 m2
The Operation & Maintenance / Tree Management is comprised of the following services:
- Operation & Maintenance / Tree Management
- Survey, Health Checking & Tagging of Trees >50,000 Nos
- Disposal of diseased trees
- Treatment for palm trees against red weevils
- Palm/Shade Trees Transplanting in Nursery >10,000 Nos
- Watering, Pruning & Maintenance of Trees >24 Months
The development of prince Majid park and walkway on a total area estimated more than 120,000 m2 to be constructed within 24 months. It will include the largest children’s play area in the city and on a big area which will reach 8,000 m2, supported by public and smart services. The park also consists of a green area, toilets, sports club, public areas, and car parking, in addition to the Fountains, restaurants, and place dedicated to childcare.
Design and construction of phase one for Jeddah Economic City, within a period of six months. The work consists of: Soil work, irrigation system and accessories, kerb stone work, planting of palm trees and trees, tile works for the external sidewalk, road marking work, sign boards, traffic light, part of the electric poles, and the adjacent external sidewalk with Jeddah Municipality.
